How are CEREC Crowns Created?

Dr Munira Lokhandwala, Starbrite Dental, Providing cerec crowns fremont

Dr. Lokhandwala of StarBrite Dental knows that your time is important. That is one reason why she has become certified in offering CEREC crowns. Fremont residents can benefit from these special, in-house made ceramic dental crowns that can speed up the process of receiving dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays. The cost of dental crowns is of significant concern, however, at StarBrite Dental, because we can make the ceramic Dental crown in-office, it reduces the chair time and the doctor’s time required to make the restoration. This allows us to reduce dental crown costs and make Dental crowns affordable to patients.

CEREC is a fast and effective way for patients to restore their smile without having to make several appointments over the course of two to three weeks.

The standard process of receiving a dental crown requires that a patient first visit their dentist for a consultation appointment and examination. When it is determined that a crown will be needed, the dentist will prepare the tooth and take an impression. This impression is sent to a laboratory, typically outside of the state. It usually requires several weeks for the restoration to be created. Once the dentist has received the restoration, the patient then needs to return to the practice for the placement of the final crown.

Instead of going through this entire process, CEREC crowns allow patients to receive their final restoration in just one dental appointment. The CEREC machine allows Dr. Lokhandwala to mill a crown or other ceramic restoration from a block of porcelain, and create a new cosmetic piece for the patient in as little as an hour. The patient can then have the restoration bonded to their teeth during their appointment, and be on their way with their beautiful smile!

Crowns, inlays and onlays, and other restorations made with CEREC are just as strong and beautiful as laboratory-created restorations. There are hours of education and knowledge needed to be able to provide CEREC crowns in a dental practice, and Dr. Lokhandwala is able to offer the expertise and knowledge that is required to enhance smiles with this amazing in-house technology.

Providing state-of-the-art treatment and cosmetic services to patients is important to Dr. Lokhandwala of StarBrite Dental. Together with her patients, she works hard to offer the best in dental technology and treatments to satisfy her patients and give them the best that she can offer!
